 The hair’s melanin (the part that gives hair its color) absorbs the laser light, which turns into heat. The heat damages the follicle (but not the surrounding skin or tissue) and prevents it from producing more hair. Laser hair removal works on the principle of selective thermolysis. The target for laser hair removal is pigment which is why the greater the contrast between the skin and the hair, the better the results. The laser seeks the dark pigment within the root of the hair and generates heat preventing re-growth.

The Quanta Light EVO uses a higher-powered laser designed to be more compatible with the skin’s surface. This compatibility results in deeper laser penetration into the layers of the skin, increasing the capability to reduce hair in fewer treatment sessions.

 The Quanta Light Evo laser is designed to be safe for all skin types thanks to the protective skin cooling and two treatment wavelengths (755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG).

 Hair growth is cyclical, and to eliminate future growth, hair follicles must be treated at the right time during its growth cycle. As a result, patients achieve optimal results with a series of treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart to treat the follicles at the ideal stage of growth.  After the first few sessions, your hair will grow more slowly, and treatments can be spaced 8-10 weeks apart.
